Instead of focusing on programming at school, you should focus on learning other very important skills required when working in IT, such as project management, communication skills, running a business, doing qualitative research, etc. Knowing how to write software alone isn’t going to get you far. I consider that a job for MBO educated people. Our task is to think about architecture, make sure the project is on schedule, communicate with clients, give advice, etc.

Thinking you already know everything is not going to get you much farther. You have an enormous lead over your classmates, my advice is to keep it. One way (the way I do it) is to quit your job (if you have one), start your own company and build software for actual clients. THAT will teach you much much more than any school can and it’s a big plus on your CV. Oh and the money is good
